Tournament Rules 2010
Rule 1 Matches must be played within the period allocated for each round of competition. Failure to do so may result in elimination from the competition of all players involved in the match.
Rule 2 The venue of each match will be agreed between the players, if necessary by the toss of a coin. The expenses of the match court fees and good quality balls will be shared.
Rule 3 Each match will consist of the best of three sets. The winners being the first to win two sets.
Rule 4 Long sets will be played, unless it is agreed between the players before the start of the match, that the first two sets can be decided by tie breaks at six games all.
Rule 5 Players must agree before the match starts the arrangements to be made in the event of the match not being completed because of adverse weather conditions or other circumstances, e.g. continuation on another date. The match starting from the point at which the match was suspended.
Rule 6 Each match result must be notified to the appropriate Tournament Secretary within 48 hours of the match. Failure to notify the result before the closing date for each round may result in the players being eliminated from the competition.
Rule 7 If any team or player fails to turn up for the match then the team or the players, as the case may be, shall be subject to such action as the management Committee may deem appropriate in the circumstances.
Footnote:
The Millennium Cup Team Doubles is a team competition with teams only being allowed to enter once. The splitting of team players into A and B teams is not permitted. Both the Millennium Cup Team Doubles and Millennium Cup Team singles are restricted to Double Teams and players in Divisions E to J.
