Rules 2010 

Rule 1

Matches will consist of 3 sets of doubles, each set played to a winning conclusion or declared drawn at 6 games all.

Rule 2

One or both players in a team may be substituted at the beginning of the second and/or third set.

Rule 3

Two points are scored for a winning set and one point to each team for a drawn set.

In addition in Divisions D-I one point will also be scored for each game won.

Rule 4

Matches will not normally commence later than 6.45pm.

In the event of a cancellation the fixture ought to be rearranged at the time of cancelation

All teams are reminded that in joining the league they are making a commitment to complete all their fixtures in full on the arranged dates.

Rule 5

The home team will, if applicable, be responsible for meeting match expenses, comprising court fees and good quality balls. 

The home team is to supply the results card. The result card must be sent by either the winners or the home team to the appropriate Divisional Secretary within seven days of playing the match.

Rule 6

The following arrangements shall apply when a match cannot be played to completion because of adverse weather conditions or other reasons, i.e. injury.

First set incomplete – restart the match on a new date

First set complete, second set incomplete – play two remaining sets on a new date,

Second set to start from the score reached previously.

Two sets complete – third set points to be shared. 

Divisions Premier to C 1 point each, Divisions D to I 3 points each.

Rule 7

Registered teams shall consist of 2, 3 or 4 players. Players are only allowed to register and play for 1 team.

Teams should consult their Divisional Secretary to register additional player before they play.

Rule 8

If any team fails to turn up for a match or does not fulfil their fixtures the team may be subject to such actions as may deem appropriate in the circumstances. This action may include removal of points, or withdrawal.
